Further to my walk to Llyn Barfog a few weeks earlier, I walked up to Druids Altar, closer to home near St. Ives Estate, Bingley. I could go on about the Bronze Age settlements in the area, Cup and Ring markings, and sacrificial slabs (such as the one in this photos), but you’ll all know I’m mostly talking nonsense. No doubt, your average geologist will be able to tell you that the craggy feature is just the result of uneven glacial strata erosion, or something boring (but much more likely) like that. Even fans of Stonehenge don’t really believe all that druid guff. As if the world isn’t strange enough without people making up all these stories.
