I’m not a dog person. I like some dogs, but, generally, I can manage without, thanks. I’m more of a cat person. We have two cats, and, before that, we had another two cats. So, I guess I get the Cat Certificate. Whenever I see a cat on the street, I am sensible enough to give them the distance they deserve, and the cats of Croatia like their space.
In fact, it would be pretty easy to pounce on a Croatian cat, as they are pretty laid back creatures. They are generally slow-moving and chilled-out—if not virtually unconscious. But don’t confuse chilled out with friendly.
Indeed, whenever they do wake up (which isn’t very often), they are unlikely to be interested in you, even if you are wearing Whiskas trousers and cat-nip shoes. A couple of strokes and a small snack is all they require, and then it’s back to sleep for your average feline. No need for walkies, or an extensive programme of entertainment.
