I find it ironic that a ‘Device to Root Out Evil’ (Dennis Oppenheim, 1997) hasn’t been a welcome visitor on its travels. You’d think this sort of device would come in quite handy. Turn Your Back on Progress
When completed, in 1968, the ‘Husky Tower’ was the largest building in Calgary by 100% margin, and the largest tower in North America at 626ft. The story goes that those crafty Canadians lied about its planned height, and (when the Americans threw up a similar tower in Texas) confessed that they had understated the height by 12ft, just in case someone tried to beat them!..
