During our recent trip to Chester, we took a stroll in Grosvenor Park, where we were immediately greeted by squirrels. Chester squirrels are the friendliest I’ve ever encountered. The first one I photographed seemed totally at ease with my proximity, only dashing when I could see the whites of its eyes. The rest were just as tame.
A little later, we pretended to have some food, knowing full well that they wouldn’t come anywhere near us. We were wrong: one came right up to my daughter, grabbed her knee and had a good look around, before deciding that we were chancers.
