West Pier, Brighton
One of two piers at this English south coast resort. The pier has been unused since 1975 — since it became a financial burden to its owners. Bought by a trust in the eighties, it has been waiting for a major overhaul ever since. Unfortunately it was gutted in the last decade by two suspicious fires.
